Grenfell Tower: Fire safety chief accused of 'conflict of interest' over cladding certification role
The leader of an administration fire security board set up in the wake of the Grenfell Tower burst has been encouraged to pronounce an irreconcilable situation after it rose he ensured cladding like that fitted toward the north Kensington tall building.
Sir Ken Knight, a previous boss fire officer, approved building materials in his part as executive of Warrington Certification, a privately owned business that gives authentications to building materials.
As executive of the organization's "fair-mindedness board of trustees" he was required to approve declarations for building items, including Reynobond FR - a heat proof form of cladding fitted toward the west London tower, as per The Times.
