Fire basically a mixture of three components Fuel , Oxygen And Heat (Source Of Ignition) .Fuel and heat needs oxygen to ignite the combustion and the value of oxygen in air is almost 21% but 16% oxygen is helpful to start the ignite the combustion.
We can called it Fire Triangle
If any one thing removed from the fire triangle so the process of combustion can't be start.
Definition
a state, process, or instance of combustion in which
fuel or Other Material(Cotton, Rubber, Paper,Wood, Cloth, Etc.) is ignited and combined with oxygen, giving off light, heat,
and
flame.
In Simple Words We can Say That,
Fire is a chemical reaction which produce light and heat. It is an
example of the chemical process of oxidation.
Smoking is the most leading cause of civilian home fire deaths.
Heating equipment is the second most common cause of home fire fatalities. Arson and intentional fires Most of these fires
occur outside, but most of the associated deaths, injuries, and
losses occur in structures, particularly in homes.
Classification Of Fire
NFPA (National Fire Protection Association)
NFPA make rules and order to implementation of the rules and regulations about Fire and Safety in the World. It is a
trade association of United Stats, albeit with some members which belongs to international, that creates
and maintains private, copyrighted standards and codes for usage and
adoption by local governments.
So NFPA has been classified the Fire in five classes as given under.
Class A Solid Combustible (Wood, Paper, Cloth, Rubber etc.)
Class B Flammable Liquids and Gasses (Gasoline, Solvents )
Class C Live Electrical Equipment's
Class D Special Metals (Magnesium, Lithium)
Class K Cooking Media (Cooking Oil, Fats etc.)
